Homemade Jam

Anyone else not a fan of sugar?

PB&J is one of my all time favorite snacks but it is really challenging to find jellies or jams that aren't total junk. The other day I was shopping and I saw one with a label that said, "75% real fruit"...umm excuse me... what is the other 25%??? So I came up with a quick 10 minute recipe made with 100% REAL INGREDIENTS for all you fellow PB&J lovers!

Ingredients:

  • A pint of berries (your choice- I used black berries because they were on sale)

  • 1 TBS chia seeds

  • 1 TBS maple syrup

Instructions:

  • Place berries and maple syrup in a sauce pan and cook on medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring continuously.

  • Remove from heat, add chia seeds and stir/mash berries until desired consistency is reached.

  • Transfer to storage container and let cool in the refrigerator for an hour before covering.

  • Enjoy!
